PTI leaders grilled on the butter campaign

Senior PTI leaders, including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Raoof Hasan and Shah Farman on Friday, appeared for a joint investigative team (JIT) recently formed to investigate a smear campaign launched on social media against state institutions allegedly by PTI.

According to sources, Jit interrogated the leaders for 1.5 hours and asked them about PTI’s social media managers. The leaders were also shown all relevant social media posts

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and others were also questioned by party financing. Two members of the PTI Finance Department also appeared for the investigators.

Finan Team submitted complete financing registers to JIT.

Later, during a telephone conversation with Express News, Barrister Gohar said the party respects all institutions and doesn’t want any rift with them.

In response to a question, he said he never published anything against institutions from his account. When he spoke with reference to his performance before Jit, he said the team asked questions in a pleasant atmosphere and showed him some social media posts.

“Jit’s questions will be discussed within the party. We will also discuss queries on social media with PTI founder Imran Khan,” he added.

A day earlier, Jit Messages issued to senior PTI leaders and workers, including Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, Raoof Hasan, Asad Qaiser, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Hammad Azhar, Aun Abbas, Aliya Hamza, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shauzab, Aun Rasheed, Muhad Arshad, Sibhad, Sibhad, Sibhad, Sibhad, Sibhad, Sibhad, Sibhad, Sibhad, Sibhggh Ullah Virak, Azhar Mashwani, Numan Afzal, Jibran Ilyas, Salman Raza Zaidi, Zulfi Bukhari, Musa Virk, Ali Hasnain and others.

Pursuant to the notifications issued by Islamabad IG’s office, the federal government constituted JIT in accordance with section 30 of the Act on the Prevention of Electronic Crimes, 2016.

The team, led by the Islamabad Inspector of the Police, is investigating whether the defendants and their accomplices were involved in an organized effort to spread suffering in Pakistan through a malicious social media campaign on social media.

The messages sent to PTI managers and workers separately said, “Sufficient material is available with Jit to suggest involving those who are called or their close knowledge of the case that was investigated”.
