Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permission to hold a demonstration in Minar-E-Pakistan on March 22.

The petition filed through Akmal Bari claims that the party wants to hold a rally in accordance with the law and the constitution, but has been denied permission for a peaceful collection, Express News reported.

PTI has requested the court to allow them to hold the rally in Minar Pakistan and secure their right to peaceful assembly.

In the petition, the party emphasized that despite following all legal procedures, their request for a peaceful rally was denied and they seek the intervention of the court to give them permission for the planned event.

Earlier, the District Administration of Lahore PTI refused to hold a demonstration in Minar-E-Pakistan on February 8th.

PTI had announced a public rally on February 8, the first anniversary of the last parliamentary elections, which the party describes as very rigged last week in January.

Alia later moved the LHC considering a delay from the district administration in the decision on the case.
