PTI senator Faisal Javed was stopped at Peshawar Airport on Wednesday while trying to board a flight to Saudi Arabia for his Umrah Pilgrimage, despite receiving permission from Lahore High Court (LHC).

According to reports, Faisal Javed was scheduled to fly to Saudi Arabia for Umrah as immigration officials at the airport prevented him from boarding his flight. He was booked on a Saudi bound flight when the authorities allegedly removed him from the plane.

In a statement to the media, Javed revealed that Lahore High Court had given him permission to perform Umrah and had ordered his name to be removed from Pakistan Exit Control List (PNIL).

He claimed that, despite submitting the court’s ruling at the airport, immigration officials, specifically from the federal Investigation Agency (FIA), refused to travel with reference to a violation of the court’s decision.

“I had a flight planned for 15:00 today, but I was not allowed to travel,” said Faisal Javed. “I showed them the court decision, but they ignored it. The FIA officials respected the legal instructions.”

The PTI leader emphasized that the Court had explicitly corrected his name from the exit list, but the government had nevertheless not complied with him to travel abroad for his religious duties.

Javed accused the government of not implementing the court’s decision and violating its right to travel for Umrah despite legal approval.
