Islamabad:

Islamabad High Court has sought answers from Senate Secretary, Federal Government and others about a petition seeking production order by PTI senator Ijaz Chaudhry to the session.

IHC Interim Manager Justice Sarfaraz Dogar heard the senator’s petition. The petitioner claimed he was arrested during MPO on May 9, 2023, which came to an end after Lahore High Court. However, he was arrested in a false case of May 9. “I’m falling into the Lahore prison while I have the right to participate in the Senate session as a senator,” the petitioner added.

He asked the court to issue his production order for each session with the Senate and the joint meeting of parliament.

IHC Interim CJ asked from the petitioner’s lawyer Babar Awan if the case enters the court’s jurisdiction. Awan gave references by Muhammad Khan Junjo and Javed Hashmi cases and added that it is falling under IHC’s jurisdiction.
