- Ayub says letter Dossier delivered to the IMF mission in Islamabad.
- Adds systematic manipulation of democratic process clearly.
- “PTI ready to meet visitors IMF delegation to clarify.”
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday sent a dossier and letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which detailed “undeniable proof of widespread electoral rig in the 2024 parliamentary elections”.
“Letter and dossier delivered to the IMF mission in Islamabad,” wrote opposition leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub on X.
A copy of the letter and dossier and the Pattan report on parliamentary elections 2024 was also forwarded to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, he added.

The IMF’s technical mission team visits the country to implement a Governance and Corruption Diagnostic Assessment (GCDA), the Ministry of Finance said in a statement. It will investigate six important management -related sectors and institutions, the statement added.
In the letter addressed to Mahir Binici, IMF’s Landhoved for Pakistan, Ayub quoted former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meeting with the IMF delegation on July 7, 2023, when PTI founder.
“He further emphasized that economic prosperity and growth in a country could only take place when there was the rule of law and compliance with the constitution,” the letter states.
The dossier, he said, contains “essential facts and evidence of how state institutions, including the Election Commission in Pakistan, suppressed PTI, strongly snapping his public mandate and constructing the election result”.
“The systematic manipulation of the democratic process is evident throughout the country and undermines the very principles of justice, free will and constitutional governance,” he added.
Given the importance of transparency in economic and political stability, Ayub said his party believes it is imperative that these serious concerns are brought under attention from all relevant stakeholders, including international institutions that monitor management in Pakistan. “
Meanwhile, the opposition leader said his party was ready to meet the visitor IMF delegation for “any further information or clarification.”
“We trust that maintaining the rule of law and democratic integrity will remain a priority in all engagements regarding Pakistan’s future,” he concluded.
The letter came a day after the IMF’s technical mission met the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi to review the legal framework as part of the ongoing expanded fund facility (EFF) of $ 7 billion (EFF).
According to a press release issued by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, Chief Justice gave an overview of “the ongoing efforts to improve legal performance”.
He informed the delegation, led by Joel Turkewitz, that the judiciary in Pakistan is independent and to be the head of the institution, it is his responsibility to protect independence.
CJP also said that the judiciary is not used to direct interaction with such missions, but since the Finance Department requested this interaction takes place. He also said he would be “quite guarded by his comments and views”.
Meanwhile, the IMF delegation recognized the role of the judiciary in maintaining legal and institutional stability and expressing its appreciation of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening governance and accountability.
“The discussion confirmed a common obligation to improve the effectiveness of the court and maintain the rule of law as a cornerstone of economic and social progress,” it said.
‘Pakistan Election Revision’
This is not the first time that the Embated former reigning party has written a letter to the global lender.
Last year in February, PTI said it had sent a letter about the case to the IMF Pakistan representative to secure a revision of the February 8, before several Bailout conversations with Islamabad.
“We have sent this letter to the IMF today,” the party’s chairman Barrister Gohar Khan told a news conference in Islamabad.
The letter called on the IMF to honor its commitment to demanding free and fair choices.
In the last interaction between Imran Khan and IMF representatives in 2023, it said, PTI agreed to support the lender’s financing facility for Pakistan, provided that free and fair elections were held in the country.
The IMF had sought support from all political parties, including Khans, shortly after agreeing with Islamabad on the $ 3 billion standby event, as the lender said was in the construction of national elections.
“A revision of at least 30% of national and provincial assemblies must be secured,” PTI said in his letter.
However, it was made clear that PTI and its basic President would never create any obstacle to harming the country’s economy in any way.
