PTI Slams ‘Death Cell’ withholding of Imran

Islamabad:

PTI has raised an alarm over what it describes as “inhuman” treatment of his imprisoned founder, Imran Khan, and claims he will be held in a “death cell” under almost total insulation.

By tackling a news conference on Thursday, PTI Central Secretary claimed for Information Sheikh Waqas Akram that Khan was limited to a lonely detention for 22 hours daily, refused access to newspapers, television, books and prevented from meeting his legal team and close employees.

Akram said the conditions constitute psychological torture and an obvious violation of basic human rights. “Imran Khan is effectively cut off from the world. His basic right to meet six designated persons is denied despite explicit court decisions that constitute contempt in court.”

He added that similar restrictions have been imposed on Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, who is allegedly denied family visits, while Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has also been prevented from seeing him.

Akram called on the judiciary to restore his “dwindling credibility and independence” in the light of what he called the executive court, which called to restore his “dwindling credibility and independence” in light of what he called the director to restore his “dwindling credibility and independence” Credibility and independence “in the light of what he called the director. “The violation of court decisions is not only an insult to the courts, but to the entire justice system.”

The PTI spokesman further questioned the recent disqualification of politician Jamshed Dasti, in which he claimed that Article 62 (2). Paragraph 1 (d) has never been used before to seat public representatives and argue that constitutional provisions were now used for political technology.

In highlighting concerns about the health and treatment of other detained PTI leaders, Akram pointed to the “worsening state” of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the “systematic violation” of Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s rights and the continued prison of Ejaz Chaudhry despite the Supreme Court orders that give him bail.

In economic affairs, Akram criticized the federal government over skyrocketing fuel prices and claimed that gasoline prices have risen by 82% over the past 15 months. “In PTI’s period, gasoline prices rose with Rs. 51, but the current government scrapped subsidies and pushed the award to Rs. 220 per liter,” he said. He also accused the government of orchestrating an Rs. 92 billion sugar scandal claiming that after approval to export 765,000 tonnes of sugar, domestic supplies disappeared from the market and sent prices risen to Rs. 200 pr. Kg.

ADRAM claimed that the prosecution was intertwined after the withdrawal of an important investigative officer.
