Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar stated that the ongoing negotiations are the same as those happening with the government and that on January 16 they will present two written demands to the government.

According to Express News, Barrister Gohar while speaking to the media outside the Adiala Jail said judges sometimes delay decisions as they need time to write them. “Yesterday we were informed that a decision would be made,” he added.

He further mentioned that Imran Khan had been told to arrive at 9 and as soon as his lawyers arrived he would introduce himself. “Since I have been in this prison, no trial has started before 11 o’clock,” remarked Barrister Gohar.

Barrister Gohar emphasized that no deal is in progress. “If such an agreement took place, we would not hide it from the public. The negotiations are the same as those with the government.”

When asked about the recent meeting between the Army Chief and Ali Amin Gandapur, Advocate Gohar explained that such meetings are ongoing mainly on law and order and maintaining working conditions is essential.

Yesterday, lawyer Gohar on Monday dismissed speculation that the delay in the judgment of party founder Imran Khan was due to a deal.

Barrister Gohar clarified that the decision had been postponed by the judge at his discretion, not because of any negotiations or political agreement,

“We were waiting here today in Adiala, but the court staff informed us that the decision would now be announced on January 17,” lawyer Gohar said.

He added that the attitude of the courts has been inappropriate and the cases against Imran Khan were fabricated to put pressure on the PTI founder. Barrister Gohar further stated that all rumors of a deal were unfounded.

The wife and sister of PTI founder Imran Khan has distanced herself from the talks between the party’s negotiating committee and the federal government, it is learnt.

A PTI source told The Express Pakinomist that the PTI founder had clearly instructed the party’s negotiation committee to contact and negotiate with the government committee as per his guidelines.

The source said the PTI founder’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and his sister, Aleema Khan, were in touch with the negotiating committee and had given their suggestions. That put the committee in a difficult position as to who to follow.
