Islamabad:

In a step reflecting on the elaboration of political turmoil, the parliamentary party Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has decided to administer fresh loyalty to its legislators, in the midst of concern for possible rejections following a Supreme Court on reserved seats.

According to a report from Express news On Tuesday, PTI has called for a crucial meeting of his parliamentary party in Islamabad on Wednesday. All members of the national and provincial assemblies affiliated with the party have been instructed to participate.

Party Insiders said the primary focus on the meeting will be the evolving political dynamic in the light of the peak court’s recent decision, stripping PTI for its claim of almost 80 reserved seats in national and provincial legislators.

Discussions will also center on the political calculation in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), where changing alliances could prove to be central in the coming days.

Especially in KP, where PTI-supported independent sway, party leadership remains on duty against the overtures of rival political forces. Thirty-five of these independent-predicted PTI is expected to re-enter the loyalty lifter and confirm their commitment to the party.

Sources confirmed that a similar ED training exercise had been done after the election, but fresh fears of deserts have led to re-action.

The Supreme Court’s short order issued last week overturned a July 12, 2024 -judgment, which had restored PTI’s status as a parliamentary party and gave it access to reserved seats.

The recent decision has changed the balance of power in the National Assembly significantly and strengthened the ruling coalition’s position, which is now within reach of a two-third majority of results with far-reaching consequences for constitutional changes and governance.
