Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders appeared eager for talks, the real obstacle to dialogue was the jailed founder of the party, Imran Khan himself.
He said the prevailing stalemate on both sides made it unlikely that the talks would move forward.
Speaking on Express News program Center Stage, Kaira said the PTI founder personally blocked the negotiation process despite willingness in his party ranks. He maintained that the PTI needed to create political space for dialogue with other political parties if it really wanted the talks to continue.
