Islamabad:
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has secured four out of seven general seats in the Khyber-Pakhwa assembly elections, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results.
Ptis Murad Saeed received an unexpected 26 votes leading the party’s numbers. Other PTI winners in general seats include Mirza Afridi, Faisal Javed and Noorul Haq Qadri, which secured 22, 21 and 21 votes respectively.
Opposition candidates Maulana Attaul Haq Dervish, Talha Mehmood and Niaz Ahmed also won general seats with 18, 17 and 18 votes respectively.
In the Technocrat category came PTI’s Azam Swati and PML-N’s Dilawar Khan victorious and received 89 and 54 votes respectively.
On the reserved seats for women, Ptis Rubina Naz won and PPPS Rubina Khalid with 89 and 52 votes. Two votes in this category were rejected during counting.
According to the Election Commission, 25 candidates were in 11 Senate seats – 16 to seven general seats, five for two technocrat seats and four for two women’s seats.
