Islamabad:
PTI MNA Junaid Akbar has announced his resignation as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) following the instructions of party founder Imran Khan.
“When Khan says to end it, the case is done for me,” Akbar said in a statement Friday.
Akbar said he never sought positions to personal advantage, appreciated his self -respect over titles and would neither bow to generals nor act of greed. Refused to participate in “boot-polishing” for anyone, he said he lacked the resources to run media campaigns as opposed to others.
He decided his comparison with former PAC chairman Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. Nisar, he said, enjoyed the support of the establishment against the PPP government, which allowed sensitive reports to leak to the media.
“During the current government, reports such as Toshakhana were deliberately detained from the press, and journalists admitted privately that they were pressed not to air details during IMRAN KHAN’s case,” he said.
Meanwhile, PTI also formally announced a boycott of the Punjab election.
The party instructed its candidates to immediately withdraw nomination papers and reiterated that it would not compete under any circumstances.
It also distanced the party from individuals who filed nominations under its name and emphasized that it had no connection with them. The party urged its workers and office carriers to strictly follow the Boycott decision and declared that it remained focused on continuing its political and public struggle instead.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, on August 26, instructed party members to resign all parliamentary committees., His sister Aleema Khan told journalists outside of Adiala prison after meeting his brother.
She said the PTI founder also issued directives to PTI chairman’s barmy Goohar and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja about the upcoming elections. “He [Imran] The said displacement of the election would only give legal justification to these votes, ”she added.
