Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Senior leader and senator Shibli Faraz has stated that his party will continue his political struggle for judicial appointments and hinted at the formation of a new alliance among opposition parties, Express News reported.
In a speech with the media outside Peshawar High Court on Tuesday, Faraz said a country cannot work without justice. “When there is no justice, the public loses faith in the courts,” he said.
He criticized the current legal appointment process and claimed that it is clear that the judges are appointed on the basis of favorites. “The way the judges are clearly appointed indicates that their loyalty lies with those in power,” he added.
He also said that if the institutions responsible for delivering justice become weak, the public feels uncertain, and under such conditions the national progress and prosperity cannot be achieved.
Faraz also confirmed that PTI would continue his political struggle over the issue of judicial appointments and that an opposition alliance would soon be formed. “Without justice, a country cannot move on,” he concluded.
