PTV launches New Digital Channel

Pakistan Television (PTV) on Wednesday launched its new English-language digital news channel, PTV Digital, with the aim of projecting Pakistan’s perspective on global audiences and counteracting tales of Anti-Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz inaugurated the channel by revealing a plaque at a ceremony attended by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Information Secretary Ambreen Jan and other senior officials.

The new channel is part of PTV’s efforts to expand its digital footprint and engage international viewers with Pakistan’s views on regional and global issues.

He also toured various sections of the channel, met with young professionals, and praised their enthusiasm and called their role crucial to addressing external tales and emphasizing that young professionals’ enthusiasm would be “important in the battle of tales against external propaganda.”

Shehbaz said the primary goal of the platform was to give authentic news while effectively responding to erroneous representation and wrong information about Pakistan.

He also recorded his first interview to the channel, whose excerpts were later sent by PTV.

“If you are in the right direction and oblige yourself with all your passion and energy to earn the cause of your country, it’s a huge inspiration,” he said. When asked about his vision for Pakistan in the next decade, Premier said he hoped to see the nation “stand high with remarkable results in economic prosperity, peace and happiness.”

In the orientation of the Prime Minister, Tarar said that PTV Digital would act as a credible and proactive voice for the country, bridge the gap between information holes and promote public diplomacy through an English -language platform. He noted that the channel would focus on international affairs, cultural insight, economic progress and analyzes.

He added that the channel would combine internal reporting with a global network of freelancers and partnerships with wire agencies such as Reuters and Associated Press (AP) to ensure real -time, verified and high quality coverage.

The initiative, he emphasized, is intended to counter one -sided narratives that are prevalent in Western and Indian -affected regional media.

Tarar added that the channel’s strategic goal was to “deliver Pakistan’s story first before others define it.”
