Public companies surpass ETFs in BTC purchases in the third quarter in a row

Public traded businesses quickly build Bitcoin

Reserves that buy more of the largest cryptocurrency than US stock exchange pagere (ETF) Thirdly equal quarter, according to CNBC.

Businesses increased their Bitcoin stocks by approx. 18% in the three months ended on June 30, adding approx. 131,000 BTC. ETF Holdings grew 8%, or about 111,000 BTC, based on numbers from Bitcoin Treasuries.net.

ETFs still have the largest stash of Bitcoin among single units with over 1.4 million BTC, which amounts to approx. 6.8% of Bitcoin’s uncovered supply of 21 million, according to CNBC.

The last time ETFS surpassed public companies in Bitcoin purchases was back in the third quarter of 2024, for US President Donald Trump secured re-election. In April 2025, despite market volatility from Trump’s customs reviews, public companies expanded their Bitcoin stocks by 4% surpassed 2% growth seen among ETFs, according to CNBC.
