Punjab Home Department calls on the public not to donate Eid -shial to forbidden organizations

Punjab Home Department has issued strong advice that encourages citizens not to donate sacrificial skin to banned organizations or their affiliated companies in front of Eidul Azha.

The department has published a list of over 70 groups described and emphasized that helping them-financing or essential-is a criminal offense under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

“Helping units involved in terrorism or anti-state activities is not only a threat to national security, but can also result in legal consequences for individuals,” the spokesman warned.

Citizens have been asked to donate hide only to charities registered with Punjab Charity Commission only. Verification can be performed using QR codes found on official certificates issued to authorized organizations.

Seminars and welfare institutions seeking to collect hides must obtain a valid NO-Ebolication Certificate (NOC) from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Only groups of legitimate permits issued by either the DC or the Charity Commission are authorized to operate.

Among the forbidden groups named are Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah-E-Muhammad, Jaish-E-Muhammad, Lashkar-E-Taiba, Al-Qaida, Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jamaat -oT-Dawa, Daesh (Isis), Hizb-Takistan (TTP) Jamaat-Dawa, Daesh (Isisis), Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Baloch’s Liberation. (Bla), Jay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Falah-E-Insaniat Foundation, Al-Akhtar Trust, Al-Rasheed Trust, Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) and others.

The department has called on parents, mosque administrators, seminars and NGOs to remain vigilant and help protect national interests.

Citizens are advised to report any suspicious hiding collection of prohibited groups via the police’s emergency number 15.

Official lists of registered charities can be obtained via Punjab Home Department, Punjab Charity Commission and NACTA sites.

The federal government has declared a four-day holiday for Eidul Azha, scheduled to begin on Friday, June 6 and will extend until Monday, June 9.

According to Express newsAll government and private offices, educational institutions and banks across the country remain closed during the holidays.

The decision is in line with the celebration of Eidul Azha, which is an important religious festival in Pakistan.

The announcement was prior to seeing Moon on May 27 of the Ruet-E-Hilal Committee. Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said the first day of Eidul Azha will be celebrated over Pakistan on June 7.
