Lahore: Punjab Education Department has released new school hours for Ramadan, which will be implemented across all schools in the province.
According to the announcement, schools will operate from 8:30 to 13:00 from Monday to Thursday, while classes on Fridays end at 1 p.m. 12.30.
For double change schools, the first shift runs from 8:30 to 12:00, while the second shift will be held from 1 p.m. 13 to 16.00.
The message also says that female students will be rejected 15 minutes earlier than the official closure time.
The central Ruet-E-Hilal Committee is ready to meet in Peshawar to observe the Ramadan moon on February 28 (Friday). If the crescent is seen, the holy regular month of March 1 (Saturday) begins.
However, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that the first regular day in Pakistan is expected to fall on March 2nd.
Similarly, Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has issued a forecast and noted that the Ramadan month could start on March 2nd.
