At an emergency press conference held at Lahore Press Club, Punjab’s minister of minority and chairman of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak committee, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, strongly condemned an alleged Indian drone strike in the Holy Place Nankana Sajib.
Arora, who described it as an obvious violation of international law, religious freedom and human rights, demanded immediate international attention to what he described as a provocative act.
The press conference participated in the Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari and prominent SOPH figures, including Sardar Bishan Singh, Satwant Kaur, Sardar Jaskaran Singh and Kalyan Singh Kalyan.
Arora accused India of deliberately targeting mosques, religious places and minority societies as part of a wider conspiracy to malignant Pakistan’s peaceful image on the global scene.
He rejected the recent Pahagam event as a “manufactured and orchestrated drama” aimed at misleading the international community by false implicating Pakistan.
Arora, who highlighted the long -standing bond between Pakistan and the Sikh community, said Sikh Pilgrims from all over the world visiting Pakistan during the recent Baisakhi festival had praised the country’s hospitality and religious tolerance.
He also said that India tried to encourage hatred between Muslim and Sikh communities and participate in psychological warfare against Pakistan.
He rejected categorical Indian accusations of attacks on Amritsar and the Golden Temple and called them baseless and misleading. “Pakistan has deep respect for the religious feelings of his Sikh brothers and would never consider such actions,” Arora confirmed.
The Minister reiterated that religious minorities in Pakistan enjoy full worship and that the state deals with all faiths and communities with the same dignity and respect.
He called on the United Nations and International Human Rights Organizations to take Pressing Notice of India’s aggression and its campaign for hatred against minorities.
When he spoke at the event, Lahore Press Club criticized President Arshad Ansari the Indian media for spreading Venom and confirming the Pakistani media support to the state and armed forces. He added that the doors to the Lahore Press Club remain open to all religious minorities, especially the Sikh community.
Sikh leaders present at the conference repeated Arora’s concerns and claimed that Pakistan is a peaceful nation obliged to protect minorities and interreligious harmony.
They promised full support for the Pakistani armed forces and warned that any action with Indian aggression would be met with a strong answer.
