At least 27 people have lost their lives and 46 others have been injured in rain -related incidents over the last 24 hours, Radio Pakistan reported Wednesday.
According to emergency officials, at least 12 people were killed and six others injured in three separate roof collapse events in Lahore overnight, while other deaths occurred in various rain -related accidents.
Rescue 1122 teams responded to calls from Muridwal Village, Mission Colony on Raiwind Road and KOT Jamal early Wednesday morning. The collapse took place during a period of persistent rainfall all over the city.
The figures highlight the growing risks, such as heavy rain, which has also caused widespread flooding and disturbance in multiple districts.
Meanwhile, the provincial disaster control authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a warning of heavy rainfall that is expected to continue across different parts of the province until tomorrow.
In response to the impending weather, the provincial control room and district emergency operations have been fully activated, with staff monitoring of the situation around the clock.
Rescue cuppets, including Rescue 1122 and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), have been set on high alarm, with machines and staff placed in standby to respond quickly.

Citizens have been asked to stay away from electric poles, hanging wires and any weak or fallen structures to minimize the risk of accidents. PDMA has also encouraged the public to remain cautious and take the necessary precautions under the adverse weather conditions.
In an emergency, the public can reach the PDMA aid line of 1129 for help. Rescue operations continue when authorities work to mitigate the damage and provide assistance to those affected by the serious weather.
