Officials say learner regular international licenses were issued through centers and online portal
As per the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, driving license service continues across the province and sets a new record. According to a spokesman, more than 2 million driving licenses have been issued over the past 18 days. “No other province in Pakistan has issued so many licenses till date,” the spokesman added, noting that Punjab is the only province to offer record licensing facilities to all citizens.
Broken down by the numbers, over 940,000 citizens have obtained learner’s licences, while more than 360,000 citizens have acquired fresh ordinary driving licences. In addition, over 700,000 citizens have renewed their learner’s, ordinary and international driving licences, and more than 2,000 citizens have obtained international driving permits. Over 7,000 citizens have successfully reissued lost licenses.

The online “home-based” license portal has also been widely used, benefiting 1.14 million citizens.
DIG Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, warned, “Driving without a license is a crime,” while adding that drivers without a license face heavy fines and strict legal action. He further stated that trained drivers have contributed to a significant reduction in road accidents in Punjab.
“Traffic police is raising public awareness about the importance of driving licences,” DIG Traffic Nazir said and urged citizens to understand their value. Citizens are encouraged to use service centers, license centers and the online portal to obtain or renew licenses. He also advised citizens to “immediately download your e-driving license on your mobile device after issuance,” noting that the e-driving license has the same legal validity as the physical card.
