Qualifiers for women to be played in Lahore from 9th to 19 April

Pakistan VS Ireland and Scotland VS West Indies will start the qualifying competition in Lahore on April 9 in front of Women’s ODD world championship, which will be played in October this year in India. Bangladesh and Thailand, the other teams in the crisis of the six-team event, face the following day.

Apart from India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the World Cup and the last two places will be filled with the top-two-teams from the qualifying tournament. The games are played on the new look Gaddafi Stadium and Lahore City Cricket Association grounds. The two venues as well as Aitchison College Grounds host the warm -up fixtures on April 5 and April 7, after the visitors team arrive at Lahore on April 3. The last set of games will be played on April 19th.

The schedule has officially been released today, March 14, just over three weeks from the start of the tournament, although three boards – West Indies, Ireland and Bangladesh – had put dates and venues in an unofficial capacity when announcing their season’s furniture and in the case of Bangladesh, their team to the event.

As reported earlier at Espncricinfo, due to the mutual scheme arriving by BCCI and PCB before Champions Trophy earlier this year, Pakistan, if they qualify for the main event, will not travel to India to play their matches. These matches are played in a neutral place.
India hosts the women’s ODD world championship for the fifth time in 2025 -and the first time after 2011. It will also be the first global women’s tournament held in India since 2016, when the T20 world championship ran parallel to the gentlemen’s event. The 2025 edition is set to correspond to the 2022 edition, where eight teams participate and play a total of 31 matches.
