“We have decided that it is in the best interest of the organization to advance from Christian Wilkins and he has been informed of his release from the team,” the team said in a statement.

Wilkins was released during the designation of completed Western Veteran. There is uncertainty whether Wilkins will receive a significant amount of money from his contract with Raiders.

In 2024, the trade Wilkins reportedly accepted $ 84.75 million in warranties. Wilkins still owed about $ 35.2 million of the guaranteed money, but Raiders canceled the Defensive Lineman’s contract.

Wilkins responded to the move by filing a complaint with NFLPA, ESPN reported.

“This franchise has an obligation to expertise on and off the field. Without any clear path or plan for future return to play from Christian, this transaction is necessary for the entire organization to move on and prepare for the new season,” concluded the statement from Raiders.

The guaranteed money -thin seems to come from how Wilkins was treated and how he handled his rehabilitation from the foot damage.
