Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is ready to witness rain accompanied by thunderstorms, with a decrease in temperature expected in different districts, the meteorological department said.
While most areas of the province are likely to experience dry and cold weather, upper regions will see an intensification of winter conditions.
According to forecasters, districts, including chitral, dir, swat, shangla, buns, malakand and Hazara division, are expected to receive rainfall with thunderstorms. Similarly, Manshra, Kohistan, Battagtram, Mohmand, Bajaur and Kurram are also likely to see rainfall.
The department also predicted snowfall in the top regions of the province, especially in hilly areas, which could affect travel conditions.
During the last 24 hours, Lower Dir registered the highest rainfall of 11 mm, followed by Kalam with 9 mm, Mir Khani with 7 mm and Drosh with 6 mm.
Chitral and Malam Jabba each received 3 mm of rain, while Kakol registered 2 mm. Swats Saidu Sharif and Takht Bhai saw 1 mm of rainfall.
Snowfall was reported in the mountainous areas where Kalam received 5 inches and Malam Jabba shooting 1 inch.
Authorities have called on residents to take precautions against the serious cold, while travelers who go to higher heights have been asked to remain aware of possible road disorders due to snowfall.
Yesterday, a rain -bearing weather system was expected to enter Pakistan between 31 January and 1 February, which brought cooler temperatures and relief from the ongoing dry spell, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted.
According to PMD, dry weather has won over Punjab, which led to gradually increasing temperatures.
