A rain -bearing weather system is expected to enter Pakistan between 31 January and 1 February, bringing cooler temperatures and relief from the ongoing dry spell, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted.

According to PMD, dry weather has won over Punjab, which led to gradually increasing temperatures.

Lahore and several upper Punjab districts are likely to receive slight rainfall in the coming days, which can temporarily lower the temperature.

The nearby rain system is expected to recover some winter cooling, reducing the daytime.

However, meteorologists warn that climate change has shortened the duration of winter this year, leading to unusually hot afternoons and colder nights.

Lahore recorded a minimum temperature of 7 ° C today, with a maximum expected to reach 24 ° C.

The dry weather has caused a gradual increase in temperatures, and experts say precipitation will be necessary to maintain a seasonal balance.

Authorities advise residents to prepare for fluctuating weather conditions, as rain showers can affect daily activities in some regions.

Cold weather drives up by the dry fruit demand

Demand for dry fruits has risen in the federal capital as the winter season continues to get cooler every day that goes.

Some people use dry fruits in dishes specially prepared during the winter season, such as ‘Gajar Ka Halwa’ (a sweet bowl made of carrots), sohan halwa (a sweet made with all purpose flour, milk and dry fruits), etc.

Bakeries and cute stores also contain dry fruits in sweets to make them tasty and healthy.

Regardless of the price, the demand for dry fruits was at its highest when a rush of customers was discovered in several dry fruits.

A dry fruit seller, Pervaiz Khan, said, “The demand for dry fruit is at its highest” because people love to eat them in winter, and it also reduces the effect of cold air on the body. He also said that compared to last year, the prices of most goods have risen due to an increase in prices of services used for growing dry fruit and also to reach end users, such as transport, labor, etc.
