‘If a visa is canceled in the UK there is normally a ten year ban but I am not seeking such a ban’
Pakistani YouTuber Raja Butt has denied reports of being deported from Britain, insisting he returned home of his own choice and not under removal orders. “A person does not return to business class after being deported,” he said Wednesday, dismissing speculation circulating online.
Butt explained that while he was not deported, his British visa had been cancelled. “My visa has been canceled and an application has been submitted to the Home Office saying that cases are pending against me,” he said.
He added that he had been on a 10-year visa, which his lawyer has now contested through a complaint.
He further stated: “My name is not on the exit control list. I will remain in Pakistan while the case is pending. If a visa is canceled in the UK, normally a ten-year ban is imposed, but I am not seeking such a ban. I may have to travel to visit, but I will continue to stay in Pakistan.”
Butt was reportedly deported from England on a morning flight after British authorities canceled his visa, according to reports that emerged on Tuesday night. The British government revoked his visa after the Home Office issued a written decision informing him of the cancellation.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Butt did not disclose the cases registered against him in Pakistan at the time of his visa application. When the authorities became aware of this, they arrested him, canceled his visa and ordered his deportation. He has said he intends to challenge the Home Office’s decision and will pursue an appeal in London.
