In a first for Pakistan, the construction of the Jinnah Square Murree Road Road in Islamabad is set to be completed within only 35 days, marking a significant milestone in the country’s infrastructure development. The project is part of a larger signal -free corridor initiative aimed at facilitating traffic congestion from Islamabad Airport to Murree.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the site to inspect progress and instructed officials to ensure timely completion without compromising on quality. “Speed is important, but quality must not be compromised,” he emphasized during the visit.
The downfall, which will span over 479 meters and has three traffic lanes, is also part of a broader effort to improve the connection and reduce travel time.
The plan includes expansion of an adjoining bridge with two additional lanes on each side and expanded four nearby slips to facilitate a smoother traffic current.
Minister Naqvi also instructed authorities to manage alternative traffic schemes during the construction to minimize the inconvenience to the public. He said the signal -free corridor will benefit both local residents and tourists by tackling long -term traffic problems in the capital and improving access to Murree.
Capital Development Authority (CDA) President Muhammad Ali Randhawa informed the minister about the project’s status and said the work on the structure and road network is progressing fast. He expressed confidence that the project will comply with the ambitious time limit.
