Rawalpindi:
The district administration and police have deported a total of 2,278 Afghan nationals of Rawalpindi in the last two months.
In addition, 1,815 Afghan individuals and their family members were released from detention centers after presenting legal documents proving their legal entry into Pakistan.
On Friday, the Afghan national Wali Jan, allegedly involved in various crimes, including murders and assaults in Rawalpindi, was formally deported and handed over to the Afghan authorities at the Torkham border.
Due to the Ashura and Muharram activities, the Afghan center of the Hajj complex is temporarily closed for two days.
It opens again on Monday, July 7th.
Earlier this month, the district administration and police arrested in a joint operation and deported 205 Afghans who had illegally entered Pakistan.
A young Afghan who was taken into custody injured himself by hitting the head with iron bars so as not to be released and deported.
In addition, the district administration released 155 arrested Afghan families and young people when they had visa travel documents.
