Rawalpindi gears up to emergencies as the next monsoon -trick form is approaching

All magazines for rescue 1122 staff in Rawalpindi have been canceled as part of the emergency preparations for the expected Monsun stick from August 5th. Precedections on key spaces throughout the district have also been completed.

Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned that the sixth magic form for monsoon rains is expected to begin on August 5, which raises concerns about potential floods throughout the province.

In a fact sheet issued on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, PDMA was confirmed precipitation registered in several districts over the last 24 hours, including Rawalpindi, Bahawalnagar, Murree, Chakwal, Sahiwal, Narowal, Okara, Attock and Lahore. Additional rain is expected in most districts in the next 24 hours.

Emergency equipment, including ambulances, fire trucks, hiking teams and boats, are placed in a fully operational state.

Community Contingency Team has been activated to help with early evacuations, first aid and attention in sensitive areas.

The district control room 24/7 is now active for real -time surveillance of weather conditions, Nullah Lai Water level and other potential dangers. Coordination with relevant departments has been strengthened.

PDMA reported that 162 people have died and 571 others have been injured in monsoon -related events in the province this year. A total of 214 homes were affected and 121 pets perished.

Citizens have been asked to avoid drains and power bars during rainfall and to keep roof drains ready. In case of emergencies, they are encouraged to call 1122.
