Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on Monday he is ready to resign if his resignation would help solve the country’s security issues.

He made this comment in response to opposition requirements for his resignation following the deadly terrorist attack on Jaffar Express.

In a speech with journalists in parliament, Khawaja Asif acknowledged that he was held responsible for the security error, but insisted that he was willing to resign if it would solve the problem.
