Boston Red Sox Pitcher Walker Buehler was back on the haug for Tuesday evening’s game against the New York Mets, but his excursion did not last long.
Buehler threw a pitch to Juan Soto at the top of the third round, called a ball despite the broadcast showing it was in the strike zone low and inside. Mets Infielder Francisco Lindor stole the second base on the play.

Red Sox-High-Handet was unhappy with the call and began to beam on the home plate Judge Mike Estabrook. Broadcast caught exactly what Buehler said – hardly anything for free.
“It’s just down to the F-ing middle,” Buehler said. “It’s right down on F — ing in the middle.… F — you.”
It was enough to get Buehler thrown from the game. Red Sox Manager Alex Cora was just behind him when he was also thrown out. Cora let Estabrook have it and contacted the first base judge Laz Diaz who tried to preserve peace.
Boston won the game 2-0.
“I don’t want to talk about what he did or didn’t. I don’t think it’s my place,” Buhler said after the game. “For me, it spiraled a little, and I said some things that he thought I shouldn’t have said and what not. At the end of the day, putting our team in a position is the only thing I really regret over that situation.”

It was Buehler’s second draft of his career. He started his first start since he was activated out of the wounded list.
Diaz, the crew chief, said Buehler was thrown to go off the haug to argue for the call.
“He can say things from Haugen. But once he gets out of the haug, he leaves his position to argue for balls and strikes,” Diaz said. “When someone leaves their position to argue for balls and strikes, it’s an instant draft.”
Cora said he was surprised by the draft of Buehler. He hoped that Estabrook would have only thrown him instead.
“You can throw me out and we can keep the jug in the game, but I guess he had enough. I don’t know why. At that time I have to go too,” Cora said. “I thought yesterday was a good day for us without me, so I decided to do it again.”
