Red Sox star Rafael Devers’ Strike Outs put him on a wrong side of the story

We are just a few short days removed from MLB’s opening day from 2025, but Boston Red Sox star Rafael Devers’ Strikeout Trend is already raising some concerns.

Red Sox’s designated hitter appeared 12 record performances over Boston’s first three games of the season. While he couldn’t record a hit under any of these bats, his 10 strikes some pretty unfortunate history.

This amount of strikes represented an unprecedented rate in the first three matches of any MLB season on record, USA reported Today.

Devers’ early seasonal matches come on the heels of a tense spring training. During the exhibition period, Red Sox Manager Alex Cora and Devers seemed to be in odds on whether he would spend time on the baseball diamond that covered the third base.

Shortly before the opening day, Cora Devers confirmed would handle the team’s designated hit duties full time.

The Red Sox season has been less than ideal so far – albeit through only four games. The campaign in 2025 started to a promising start as Boston celebrated a 5-2 season opening win over Texas Rangers.

However, Red Sox continued to drop their next three games and fell to 1-3 on the young season.

Former Red Sox Chief Baseball Manager Chaim Bloom previously described Devers as a star, and the franchise pays him as one. Devers ink a contract with Red Sox worth $ 313.5 million in January 2023, ESPN reported.

He finished last season with 28 homes and had a .272 batting average.
