Red Sox’s Jarren Duran Open about suicide attempts

Boston Red Sox is the subject of Netflix ‘latest behind the scenes entitled “The Club House: A Year of Red Sox.”

One of the interviews conducted during the 2024 season was with Outfielder Jarren Duran, who had a Breakout All-Star campaign. But the interview was quite serious when he discussed his seasons 2021 and 2022, which he said burned his suicide attempt.

Duran has been open to his mental health struggles he has treated as he did not meet his high expectations in the organization to start his great league career.

He revealed he got the point where “I was sitting in my room. I had my rifle and I had a bullet and I pulled in the trigger and the gun clicked, but nothing happened.”

He had a career year in 2024, leading MLB in double (48), triple (14), bats (671) and record performances (735), while he belted 21 homers with 75 RBI.

Duran also made his first career All-Star Game and earned MVP Heads after Belt a home drive that helped the American League beat the National League.

However, there was some controversy with Duran last season when MLB suspended him two matches to say an anti-gomosexual slur at a fan. He would quickly apologize and said he was upset with his actions and would work to be better from his mistake.

So far this season hits Duran .239 (11-for-46) with two doubles, a triple and seven RBI over 10 games.
