Sullivan turns out to have competed for Wagner Women’s team in the foil competition at several meetings during the first half of the 2024-25 season. Sullivan participated in the gentlemen’s team in the 2023-24 season, scoring spaces showed from meetings during the season.

NCAA changed its transcend-cluttering policy after President Donald Trump signed “No Men Men In Women’s Sports” executive order.

“A student athlete assigned to a man at birth may not compete for a women’s team,” the policy read.

Sullivan was at Cherry Blossom Open and was ready to meet against Stephanie Turner.

Turner decided to take a knee in protest of Sullivan’s admission to the meeting and the US hencing’s transcend policy. Turner talked to Pakinomist Digital about his decision to protest and ultimately be expelled from the event.

“This is a serious problem that happens in all sports and it needs to be solved. There is a difference between men and women,” Turner said. “It is a civil rights movement for women and girls, and I prioritize the safety and rights and protection of women and girls over trans-identified men.”

The US Fence has since defended its policies for transient participation policies.

Sullivan’s club team, iconic fence club, supported the fence after the event with Turner.

“Red has followed any rule and guideline led by Fie and the US fence, says the statement.” She has all the right to compete in the events she qualifies and has long met the criteria for doing so.

“Fence is rooted in a deep tradition of honor, sports, inclusion and respect, and in a sport proud of these values, the type of behavior expressed by Red’s opponent has no place. Ikonic fence club supports red in her fence trip and will continue to do so in the future.”
