However, the name Redskins will not return when Harris explained just as much to Bret Baier on “Special Report.”
“The Commander’s name has actually taken on a fantastic form of element in our building,” replied Harris on Baier’s question about the Redskins name, which came back as part of this new stadium agreement. “So the people who certain types of players who are hard, the love football are delegated command and Jayden [Daniels]is, for example, a commander and they are ranked.

“And you know, the business staff has come into it, and obviously we’re in a military city here. There are more military staff than anywhere else, so we are moving a little forward with the commander’s name, excited about it and not looking back.”
Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the District of Columbia government and leaders leaders reached an agreement to return to the site of RFK Stadium, which is now awaiting the approval of the DC Council.
Congress legislators supported Harris, who went back to the old stadium, provided that the team and the NFL would honor the old Redskins logo. Senator Steve Daines, R-Mont., Said he would support the organization in the future with his plan after “good faith negotiations” with both units.

“We called leaders in case of truly, woke up gone wrong,” Daines said in November. “The irony that they canceled Native American culture when the DEI movement went far too far. This honors a Blackfeet chief born in Montana. He is widely considered. The Blackfeet stem in Montana, their current chairman and the tribal government signed a letter in strong support to bring the logo back.
“We have good discussions with the NFL and with the commanders. There is good faith in negotiations in the future that will allow this logo to be used again. Perhaps the revenue that was going to a foundation that can help native Americans in sports and so on. We are making good progress and based on the good faith negotiations, I made a decision to support this bill in the committee.”
Harris told Baier that the hope is that the construction will start on site in 2027, with opening day targeted at 2030.

Baier also asked if RFK Stadium will remain the name despite being a new stadium.
“We get as close to our heritage as we can, right? So I think name should be part of it,” replied Harris.
