Reham Khan, politician and ex -wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has said he can receive some relief if he “prays for grace,” but keeping him in prison for a long period is unlikely.
When talking at a press conference at Karachi Press Club, she criticized the political focus on Imran Khan’s bail. “Everyone is obsessed with a person’s bail. But why is there so much concern? Even Trump will help the prisoner,” she noted without naming Imran directly.
Reham highlighted former US President Donald Trump’s loyalty to his allies. “Trump stands by his friends. Three trillion dollars were behind him. Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and X, and even owners of Meta and Amazon supported him,” she said.
However, she rejected the idea that powerful global numbers would support Imran Khan. “People who shape the progressive world do not waste their time on failed and set aside leaders. They do not make bad investments.”
Reham said that just appeal letters would not be enough to secure Imran Khan’s release. “If he asks for grace, he might get some relief. But I can’t see him being in prison for too long,” she claimed. “He hasn’t even completed two years yet. No career politician has been jailed for so long.”
She also claimed that no friendly land was willing to take in Imran Khan. “Even if Western countries are eager to protect him, the establishment will not let him leave.”
Reham revealed that she plans to form her own political party rather than participate in an existing one. She criticized PTI’s former media policies and claimed she was banned from television under their rule.
She rejected any personal interest in Imran Khan or Pti’s politics and said, “I do not follow any news about him, nor am I interested.” She also mocked the idea that Imran had written letters searching for drug addicts and said, “Were they written with ink or with his nose?”
Reham claimed that she had personally witnessed PTI leaders “begging for grace” and suggested that similar actions could lead to Imran Khan’s possible release.
As she turned to national politics, she criticized the current government state. “There is no government visible in Karachi and Lahore is not pure. Management means making people’s lives easier.”
She also accused PPP of staying in the background while PML-N wore the head of the government’s responsibility. “Whoever is in power now ends their full five -year period.”
Reham expressed sympathy for PTI’s supporters and called them “innocent people who were misled.” However, she made it clear that her sympathy did not include the party’s leadership. “If I had any sympathy for PTI’s leadership, things would have been different,” she said.
