Rawalpindi:
A scrub broke out between senior PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Barrister Shoaib Shaheen outside the Adiala prison, which led to a heated exchange of flaps and insults, sources said Friday.
According to Insiders, Shoaib Shaheen later approached PTI founder Imran Khan in court to complain about the incident and claimed that Fawad had physically assaulted him in prison gate # 5.
During the hearing, Shaheen confronted Imran in Fawad’s presence and even showed an injury to the hand as evidence.
“I was physically attacked in prison gate # 5,” Shaheen allegedly told Imran.
However, after a brief recognition of the complaint, Imran deflected the conversation and asked about the status of a human rights petition. His response suggested little interest in tackling the problem.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that Fawad Chaudhry released Shoaib Shaheen under their argument, causing him to fall and maintain damage to his arm.
Verbal abuse was exchanged, where Fawad reportedly accused Shaheen of being an “agency operative” that Shaheen repeated, “Remember your own business.”
The prison staff had to intervene to break the fight. After the change, Fawad entered the prison area while Shaheen remained outside of breastfeeding his injuries.
PTI -Attorney Nadia Khattak, who witnessed the scrub, criticized Fawad’s actions. “No matter what the differences should be verbal, not physical. It was completely inappropriate,” she noted.
She expressed relief that Shaheen did not suffer a major injury and said, “Fortunately, no bones were broken. He got up with only one hand injury.”
