A new Bipartis Survey from the Public Policy Institute of California found that most of California residents are against biological male trans athletes competing in women’s sports.
This figure included more than 70% of the state’s school parents.
“Most Californians support that those who require transnry athletes compete for teams that matched the gender they were assigned at birth,” the vote states.
“Solid majorities in adults (65%) and probably voters (64%) support that requires transking athletes to compete on teams that match the gender they were assigned at birth, not the gender they identify with. An overwhelming majority of public school parents (71%) support such a requirement.”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom admitted that trans athletes competing in girls sports are “deeply unreasonable” during an episode of his podcast last month, but defended to allow it of empathy for the transsexual population.
The state was one of the first to tread President Donald Trump’s “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order when he signed on February 5th.
California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) said it will continue to follow the state’s law that allows athletes to participate as the gender they identify as, a spokesman Pakinomist Digital told.
“CIF gives students the opportunity to belong, connect and compete in educational -based experiences in accordance with California’s legislation [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] Which allows students to participate in school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions that are in accordance with the student’s gender identity, regardless of gender listed on the student’s posts, “says a CIF declaration.

A law, AB 1266, Has been in effect since 2014 and gives California’s students at Scholastic and Collegiate levels the right to “participate in sex-divorced school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities that comply with his or her gender identity, regardless of gender listed on student items.”
California’s rules for rules section 4910 (K) define gender as “a person’s actual sex or perceived sex and includes a person’s perceived identity, appearance or behavior, whether this identity, appearance or behavior is different from the traditionally associated with a person’s sex at birth.”
On April 1, the State Assembly and its democratic majority struck two bills that would have changed the laws to only allow student athletes to compete based on their biological gender.
US Education Secretary Linda McMahon earned a warning to Newsom to comply with Trump’s order that prevents trans -bright athletes from competing in women’s sports. The warning and investigation come after California made itself the first “sanctuary” state of the nation of transgender people and has engaged in a multi -year struggle with school districts about their notification policy.

“Allowing participation in sex-divorced activities based on ‘gender identity’ places schools at risk of violation of title IX and loss of federal funding. As a governor you have a duty to California’s school districts Of this risk, ”McMahon wrote in the letter.
“As Education Secretary, I officially ask you to inform this department if you want to remind California schools to comply with federal law by protecting sex-divorced spaces and activities. I also officially ask you to insure parents publicly that California’s teachers will not facilitate the imagination of ‘gender oversets’ for their children.”
