Rian Johnson has been talking about his scrapped Star Wars Trilogy.
Talking with Rolling Stone, Rian, Director for 2017’s The Last Jedi, talked about his very waited Star Wars Trilogy that never happened.
The Brick The director said at the time that he and Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy worked on ideas for three films, but when Knive Out came along, he started focusing more on the murder mystery instead.
Rian said, “Nothing really happened to it. We had fun working together and they said, ‘Let’s continue to do so.’ I said, ‘Great!’ I would kick ideas around with Kathy.
He added, “That’s the kind of thing if there is an opportunity to do it or do something else in ‘Star Wars’, I would be excited. But right now I just do my own things and pretty happy.’
Rian continued to note that his Star Wars Trilogy was “everything very conceptual” and that he never made a “overview or treatment or something” for it.
For the un towards the director of Looper in 2022 that he “would be sad” if he had never been given a chance to direct a Star Wars movie again, but “It wouldn’t be the end of the world for anyone.”
