Twelve-time NCAA All-American swims Riley Gaines and husband Louis Barker expect their first child together.
Gaines confirmed the news to Pakinomist Digital Saturday, and added the couple will welcome a baby girl in September.

“Surprise! We are 26 weeks pregnant,” she said in a post on Instagram. “God is so good all the time.”

The host of Outkick’s “Gaines for girls” Podcast married Barker in 2022, and they celebrated their three-year wedding day on May 22.
Gaines have been a striking spokesman for female athletes during the debate about transient athletes participating in girls and women’s sports. She recently spared with seven-time Olympic gold medal Simone Biles Over a Softball team in Minnesota that won a state championship behind a trans player.
In response to Gaines’ criticism of a social media post that praised the championship team, Biles issued a message that called Gaines “really sick” for her attitude towards Trans athletes. She even launched a personal attack on Gaines’ physical appearance.

Olympian Simone Biles is facing hard setback after clash with Riley Gaines over Trans Athletes -Debatten
“You are really sick, all this campaign because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser,” said Biles, referring Gaines, competing against former Upenn -Swimming Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA Championships.
“You need to lift the trans community and maybe find a way to do sports inclusive or create a new avenue where Trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category is in all sports !! But instead … you bully them … One thing is definitely no one in sports is safe with you around !!!!!”
The position was viral on social media where Biles added another post, “bullying someone your own size, which ironically would be a man.”

Biles later issued an apology and said she “did not speak for policies that compromise justice in women’s sports.” Gaines responded by accepting the apology and inviting Olympian to participate in the effort “to support fair sports and a future for female athletes.”
