Ripple pushes deeper into multichain inter operability with the integration of wormhole, a leading cross-chain notification protocol, with XRP headbok (Xrpl) and its evm-compatible sidekin.
The move, which was announced on Thursday, aims to support the institutional demand for trouble-free movement of crypto assets, including stablecoins and tokenized assets in the real world, across multiple blockchain networks without added friction or fragmentation.
Wormhole’s integration locks the opportunity to transfer blockchain’s native token XRP
issued assets and multifunctional tokens across more than 35 supported chains, including Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche.
Developers can also initiate transverse chain smart contract interactions using Wormhole’s Messaging infrastructure. Ripple says the upgrade will help developers and institutions to build multichain applications that prioritize compliance, low costs and fast settlement.
“If you want real mass recording, interoperability is important. The infrastructure must be there, not only on a chain, but across them,” said David Schwartz, CTO of Ripple, in a press release shared with Coindesk. “With this integration, Tokens, which was naturally issued on the XRP headbook, is created to the reality of being able to move between blockchain networks while maintaining native issues and control.”
The development comes as the XRP headbook is increasingly positioning itself as a hub for institutions and tokenized assets in the real world such as real estate. E.g. Dubai’s first real estate tokenization platform was built on XRPL, which allows qualified investors to buy fractional shares in apartments and tokenize titles on the network.
Ripple, a payment-focused blockchain development company with close ties to XRPL, also issues its own regulated stableecoin ripple USD RLUSD. The token has a delivery of $ 400 million across XRP and Ethereum chains, Rwa.xyz shows.
