Robert Pattinson bashes fans for hating ‘Twilight’ for nearly 20 years

Robert Pattinson has hit back at fan feedback for his film that was released nearly two decades ago.

In a recently translated interview with GQ Spainhe spoke candidly about fans’ reaction to Twilight series.

“I love that people keep telling me, ‘Man, ‘Twilight’ ruined the vampire genre,'” the Hollywood actor began by saying.

Reflecting on his first Twilight movieswhich was released in 2008, Pattinson continued, “You still stuck on that s***?”

“How can you be upset about something that happened almost 20 years ago? It’s crazy.”

Twilight is an adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s novel, which was about a teenage girl named Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, who had fallen for a vampire, Edward Cullen, as portrayed by Pattinson.

Earlier, the 38-year-old actor discussed his efforts for the film, telling the magazine: “I wanted to make it as artful as possible.”

“We had this weird tension where the studio was afraid to make things a little too emo and stuff. I thought that was the only way to play it.”

“I spent so much time [on set] furious… I can’t believe how I acted half the time.”

Before concluding, Pattinson recalled when a film manager praised him for smiling and said, “You’re going to be fired at the end of the day if you don’t stop doing what you’re doing.”

For the uninitiated, the fantasy film franchise grossed over $3.30 billion worldwide.
