Colorado Rockies made terrible story on Sunday with a 5-3 loss for the New York Mets.
With the defeat, Rockies fell to 9-50 on the season. Colorado became the first team in MLB to hit 50 losses this season and went into its own league when it comes to baseball futility.

Rockies has the worst record in 59 games of any major league team in modern baseball (since 1901). The team has been swept 10 times in 20 series, tied to the most sweeps through 20 series with 1962 Mets, 1970 Milwaukee Brewers and 1994 Oakland Athletics.
USA Today noted that Rockies has played the most matches without earning their 10 -win, with only four teams in the history of the sport that have played 55 matches or more matches before winning at least 10. These teams include Louisville -Obersterne in 1985, 1886 Washington Nationals, 1899 Cleveland Spiders and 1904 Washington Senators.
Mets won Sunday’s match, 5-3, behind Pete Alonos’s three-run home driving and Francisco Lindor’s leading Homer. Juan Soto also added a dinger to his state sheet.

The team regained the only possession of first place in the National League East. The team has won the last 26 matches where Lindor has homated. It is the second longest row of its kind since Brooklyn Dodgers ’29 consecutive victories when Carl Furillo hit a home drive from 1951 to 1953.
Rockies’ season will not be easier after already firing Bud Black in May. The team continues its road trip Monday against Miami Marlins.
