Colorado Rockies has leaned on Relief Pitcher Jimmy Herget this season. But in the past week he has experienced a noticeable uptick in his workload.

After being called from the Rockies-Bullpen for the fourth time within a week, the herring arrived at a news conference with a humorous t-shirt referring to the state of his casting.

After Colorado’s victory over Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, veteran man had a shirt that said, “My arm hurts.”

“It’s just a fun little thing I like to do after launching,” Herget told journalists.

Then he clarified his status.

“I’m doing well,” Herget added.

Auxiliary throwers are sometimes called the haug for back-to-back games, but Herget is likely to offer some rest after his four appearances over seven days.

Herget owns a 2.73 era this season and has performed in 44 games.

Herget appeared eight reliefs with Atlanta Braves last season. He spent 2021-23 with Los Angeles Angels.

Rockies went into Saturday evening’s game against Diamondbacks at the bottom of the NL West position.
