It’s long arrived but ROG Xbox Ally -Handheld finally Have a release date after their first message under the Xbox exhibition window earlier in June.
ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will both be available on October 16, 2025, which will be launched in several regions, including the UK, Australia and the US (ROG Xbox Ally will be launched in China early next year).
Pre -orders are not live yet, and pricing is still unknown, despite the recent leaks and rumors suggesting a price tag close to $ 1,000 for ROG Xbox Ally X. Xbox says both of these details will be shared in the coming weeks, which may be an indication of pre -orders opening in September.
The leaks previously suggested for pre -orders that went live on August 20th. Although this has not exactly paneled as suggested, it was the date expected of Xbox and Asus’ notice of a release date, and the rumor of a 16th October release date was spot on.
Takes signals from the steam deck
Xbox has also announced a ‘handheld compatibility program’ that seems to follow in the footsteps of Valves Steamos and covered verified system. This will help players identify which games can be played or compatible with their Xbox Ally device. It will also come together with a feature called ‘Windows Performance Fit’ indicator, which will help ‘reflect the expected performance on their supported device’.
To ensure a console-like handheld experience, Xbox uses an advanced Shader delivery feature that is built to pre-read all game shadows during downloads to dive straight into play once ready.
These features are expected to come together with the ‘full -screen experience’, which is supposed to help streamline the handheld experience on Windows, without unnecessary background processes and more RAM for games.
