- Roku upgrades its library with free streaming channels, bringing 40 new fast channels to viewers in the UK
- The free upgrade is set for a launch date in October and will offer viewers different categories of 24/7 viewing across entertainment, lifestyle and more
- It marks a huge improvement for British Roku users after the successful driving of fast channels in the US, Canada and South America
Roku is one of the leading services for free streaming in the US thanks to its series of fast (free ad-supported streaming TV) channels, and now the platform is preparing to roll a similar free upgrade to UK users.
From October, Roku users in the UK have access to 40 new fast channels that give viewers a wide range of free streaming content. These new fast channels will be available on both new and existing ROKU devices, and they will come without extra costs or subscription fees – which is the best part.
Rokus fast channels offer around the clock and are categorized in different themes and genres. In addition to giving viewers a constant stream of free content, Roku also sees this as an opportunity for advertisers to reach the right audience with personalized ads.
As mentioned, the setting of free British channels will include titles grouped by genre that include entertainment, genuine crime, lifestyle, documentaries and more. Some of the new channels will include unresolved mysteries for crime, wildlife nature and this old house for home and garden -which you will access via the Roku channel and the new Live -tv zone.
When Roku rolls out its fast channels, it marks the first major free upgrade for British users after its successful reception in the United States, Canada and South America. Since the announcement, Roku UK’s Country Manager, Richard Halton, has expressed excitement on behalf of the company and shares the following:
“With the launch of our first fast channels in the UK in October, we give viewers more choices than ever before – from iconic series and movies to new favorites and niche genres – all free. It is an exciting step forward as we continue to expand and open new opportunities to advertise to reach very engaged audience.”
More details of the full fast channel lineup are revealed as we get closer to the launch in October, so we get our eyes peeled for any new messages.
