Rory McIlroy has had a “beautiful average” US open, recognized the Irish golfer.
McIlroy said his tie for 49. On the leaderboard after shot 10-over pairs at Oakmont is not very remarkable.
The fact that the star golf player even offered public comments turned some heads because it broke his recent trend with silence.
McIlroy, who won the US Open in 2011, held his first media session after round after the tournament after shooting a 4-over 74 in the third round Saturday.

He jumped over talking to journalists after playing Thursday and Friday. McIlroy was asked on Saturday if it was because of his frustration on the course.
“Not really,” said the ruling Masters master. “It’s more a frustration over you.”
When he was asked to elaborate, he said, “Maybe not you, but maybe more – just it all.”
Serving the coveted green jacket at Augusta National Golf Club gave McIlroy a career grand slam.

But after it has been difficult. McIlroy has talked openly about finding motivation.
McIlroy’s driver was determined to be non -conforming before the PGA championship. He was annoyed that the news was leaking out and did not talk to the media after any of the four rounds of Quail Hollow. He spoke this week before the start of the US Open, but not after his first round 74 or second round 72.
At times he did not need words to share his thoughts, such as when he threw a club at No. 12 Friday and crushed a tee marker a few holes later. Both outbreaks came when he played the last 10 holes in the second round to get the cut.
“It’s funny. It’s a lot easier to be on the cut line when you’re not really don’t care if you’re here this weekend or not,” McIlroy said. “I was thinking kind of, ‘do I really want two days here or not?'”

He also contested the notion that avoiding the media is new to him.
“At Augusta I skipped you on Thursday,” McIlroy said. “I’ve done it before. I’m just doing it a little more often.”
There are plenty of options for what eats at McIlroy. His performance, driver flap or maybe he’s just tired of the expectations that come with being one of the game’s top ambassadors. He has long had a reputation for accessibility and he stuck with the PGA Tour when Liv Golf launched.
