RS17 Cut per Device for mains measurement users

Islamabad:

During the ongoing negotiations with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, the government has shared a plan with regard to the purchase of power from network measurers.

According to the plan, electricity is proposed from network measurement users to be purchased for RS10 per year. Unit. Previously, electricity was generated by net measurement consumers purchased for RS27 per year. Unit. This means RS17 per Device reduction in speed.

The IMF had questioned how the question of consumers outside the grid who left the main network would be treated. The government has not yet given a clear answer or plan on this matter.

Discussions with the IMF also included negotiations on electricity companies. The IMF has suggested using the economic space to reduce circular debt, reports sources.

Net measurement is a billing mechanism that allows consumers who generate their own electricity – usually through solar panels – to sell excess power back to the web. This reduces their electricity bills and provides an incentive for the use of renewable energy.
