Islamabad:
Stop for residence order from Lahore High Court in the case regarding tax on banks’ income income resulted in an advantage of RS 11.5 billion for national tax.
While on this account, a total of one month, the national tax accrued, the financial benefit of 34.5 billion Rs.
This success was achieved because of the vision of financial reforms by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and improvement in the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The Prime Minister had noticed the residence order on cases related to SKAT on the banks’ income income under the Finance Act 2023, and asked the Minister of Law, Finance Minister, Attorney General and Chairman FBR to constitute the best team to argue for these cases.
During the last month, due to the team’s efforts, RS 23 billion recovered after the judges from Sindh High Court, and now RS 11.5 billion was achieved from the Lahore High Court decision.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of Minister of Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, President FBR Arshad Mehmood Langrial, Secretary Finance Imdad Bosal and their team.
The Prime Minister said the ministers of law and finance and the lawyer made the historical performance possible with their hard work.
He said because of these creative and strong steps that tax collection could be increased and there would be hope of a better economy.
A significant amount of 34.5 billion RS was deposited in National Exchequer, and this money could now be spent on projects with health, education and public welfare, he added.
He said with Allah’s Allah’s Allah’s Allah that Pakistan’s grace would soon become self -sufficient with these kinds of steps.
