- A leak has detailed the alleged specifications of NVIDIAS RTX 5080 Super
- Some players can see this refreshed GPU as on the ground – it doesn’t add any extra kernels in the mixture, especially
- However, there are robust upgrades elsewhere with video memory and also watch speeds
Another rumor of Nvidia’s RTX 5080 Super has been sent and we’ve seen a look at what is allegedly the full specifications of this GPU.
As Videocardz pointed out, Leaker Copit7kimi has published the alleged specifications of the rumor graphics card on X, and that may mean that Nvidia has just given the detail to its graphics card making partners (and they leaked from there). Or it can mean exactly nothing, because ever rumors, like demons, need significant salting.

The most important parts of the specifications are that the RTX 5080 Super supposedly will use the same GPU as the RTX 5080, which is the GB203 chip. Since the RTX 5080 has already maximized the kernels of this chip, the core number will be the same with the super version of this graphics card – there is no room to maneuver to increase it.
The big upgrade comes from jumped from 16 GB to 24 GB video RAM (VRAM), and as well as 50% lift, Leaker believes Nvidia will use faster memory modules here (32 Gbps rather than 30 Gbps).
We are also told that TDP for the RTX 5080 Super will sit on 400W or that it may use even more power than that.
Analysis: Crushing the specifications and not forgetting about watches
If you look at these specifications, you can think: How should the RTX 5080 Super be a tempting upgrade on the vanilla version of GPU? It has the same cuda core core counting and somewhat faster video memory, but only about 7% more Vram -ribbon width than RTX 5080. So what gives?
Well, don’t forget it added to that vram -Boost, RTX 5080 Super is expected to have Significantly faster watch speeds. Pushing these watches faster is the reason why this incoming GPU will chug more than 400W (maybe a good bit more) compared to 360W for the regular RTX 5080.
So if you are concerned that the RTX 5080 Super possibly represents an ongoing view in terms of an upgrade over the RTX 5080, don’t be. (Even if you are concerned about your PC’s power supply instead). All of this is in line with previous speculation that we are seeing something as a 10% benefit increase with RTX 5080 Super Versus the basic version of GPU, or maybe even a little more (up to 15%, even).
Plus so much larger allocation of 24 GB VRAM will make a difference in some scenarios where 4K games combined with very high graphics settings become more demanding with certain games. (A situation that only gets worse when time rolls on if you think about future -proofing, which should always be something of a consideration).
On top of this is the fact that Nvidia falls out of advantage in the consumer GPU world, with AMDS RDNA 4 graphics cards that have a serious positive impact on Team Red’s chances -and sales. The latest RX 9060 XT reveal has also gone down a treat, so I don’t think NVIDIA can risk harming its status with PC players further, honestly, by pushing the subpar super refreses out.
Speaking of updates – with emphasis on the majority – earlier rumors have also theorized an RTX 5070 Super Graphics card with 18 GB VRAM is cooking, but it is especially absent from the copy7kimi’s post here. This does not mean that it does not happen, but it could be read as a sign that the RTX 5080 Super will first arrive.
Again, earlier spinning from the rumor mill indicates a very wide 2025 -release time frame for RTX 5080 Super, but if the specifications are really decided at this time – and it’s a huge if – It suggests that Nvidia intends to implement this GPU before, rather than later, this year.
