Russell Wilson changes postcodes. Veteran NFL quarterback and New York Giants have accepted a one-year contract, ESPN reported.
The deal is worth up to $ 21 million, with $ 10.5 million guaranteed according to the report. Giants searched for answers to the questions about their quarterback room, especially after cutting ties with Daniel Jones in November. New York signed Jameis Winston for a two-year contract last week, but he was not necessarily considered the starter for the upcoming season.

Giants reportedly had an interest in Aaron Rodgers, but the addition of Wilson effectively ends the team’s persecution of the four times NFL MVP.

Wilson won a Super Bowl with Seahawks and spent last season with Steelers. He went to Pittsburgh after a turbulent two years of broncos. A calf injury forced Wilson to sit in the first six games of the 2024 season, with Justin Fields handling Start Quarterback tasks for the early part of the campaign.

The reported agreement with Giants would mean that Wilson and Fields would play home matches in the same stadium in 2025 – albeit to fit different teams. Fields accepted a two-year deal with the New York Jets shortly after the NFL’s free agency period opened earlier this month. Both Giants and Jets play home matches at Metlife Stadium.

Wilson performed in 11 games with Steelers and ended last season with 2,482 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Steelers fought down the stretch, but ultimately won 10 games in regular season. Pittsburgh lost against the Ravens in the Wild-Card round in January.
Giants went 3-14 this last season and currently owns the third election of next month’s NFL draft.
