Russia supports Pak, China Afghan politics

Peshawar:

From Russia’s perspective is the most dangerous international terrorist equipment Daesh or IS-KP, but other militant groups also posed a serious danger to the region, such as TTP to Pakistan and ETIM to China, the Russian special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said on Tuesday.

In an exclusive interaction with Express Pakinomist, Kabulov stated that Russia was on the same page with Pakistan and China that the threat of these groups should not be underestimated and must be removed, otherwise they could damage the diplomatic ties with Beijing and Islamabad.

“We have the information that Pakistan and China regularly complain about Emirate-e-Islami on TTP and ETIM. While the Afghan regime always officially denied it, we believe the two fraternal countries should solve the problems bilaterally,” Kabulov said.

“We confronted [Afghanistan] With the information that Islamabad has registered complaints about TTP and ETIM or the jihadist group several times. We believe that the Afghan government should be helped enough to help slow down the threat of militant conditions on Afghan Earth, ”he added.

The Afghan government should tackle such annoying problems with its neighboring countries amicable. “The Russian Federation is on the same page with Pakistan and China that these annoying questions could harm the diplomatic ties with Beijing and Islamabad,” Kabulov said.

Quoted from a statement from the Russian Security Council secretary Sergei Shoigu that the presence of 23,000 foreign terrorists on Afghan Earth was alarming, he said, “We think it is important that the Russian government helped Afghanistan to limit this threat.”

The Russian special envoy stated that the decision to recognize the Afghan Taliban government was not only based on economic or political considerations, but also included the security consideration when Moscow believed that strengthening the Kabul -regime would help eliminate terrorism from Afghan Earth.

“The main reason behind Emirat-e-Islami Afghanistan’s recognition is Moscow’s desire to establish fully golden political and economic ties to the new authorities in Afghanistan. It also aimed to ensure the security concerns of the countries,” he said.

“Factors behind the recognition are not purely political, there are several reasons behind this decision,” Kabulov said. “[It is about] Protection of Russian investments in Afghanistan. We want a safe environment for our investments. “

When asked about the recognition of the Kabul regime by other countries, Kabulov admitted that it would not be an easy decision for the international community. In this connection, he referred to the reservations expressed by countries such as Pakistan, China, Iran, India and others.

He said China has not recognized Afghanistan formally, but received their ambassador and accepted the diplomatic credentials. Pakistan also raised the status of the Afghan envoy to ambassador, who is a green light against recognition, he added.

However, he continued, Russia adopted a more traditional way and began intergovernmental and intermediate conditions. The Russian special envoy supported the trilateral process between Pakistan, China and Afghanistan, but emphasized that Moscow is not currently planning to participate in this process.

“We have no plan to be part of the tripartite process. Afghanistan is a common question of the Eurasian countries, they support Islamabad and Tehran on their approaches on the diplomatic front, which is not different from the Moscow format,” he said.

“We believe that consultations are fertile in Afghanistan. We support such contacts from regional states in Afghanistan,” he said. “We believe that the establishment of economic and political ties with Afghanistan will reduce terrorist threats.”

In response to another question about what benefits Moscow would have by recognizing the Afghan Taliban regime, Kabulov thought it would be too early to measure any benefit, emphasized that the result of any diplomatic commitment takes years.

Russia and Afghanistan can reap mutual benefits, including economic growth and progress in industrial and agricultural sectors. Then in the coming years he added, “We together assessed the benefits of both countries.”

Kabulov emphasized that Russian investments in Afghanistan would also benefit its closest neighbors, Iran and Pakistan. He emphasized that Afghanistan had an important geographical location in the region. “Pakistan will also take advantage of the Russian investment in the region.”

Russian envoy supported Chinese projects in Pakistan and Afghanistan. “Chinese projects will develop Pakistan’s economy,” he said, referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). “I heard that Kabul also welcomes such offers from Beijing. We supported such projects from China.”

In the end, according to Kabulov, Afghanistan would benefit most from the CPEC project as the country served as a bridge between South Asian and Central Asian states and on to Eurasian nations. Russia has called CPEC a positive financial commitment, he said.

The broadcast expressed his grief over the death in the earthquake in five provinces in Afghanistan. He expressed compassion for the Afghanistan government over the loss of human life and human suffering because of the natural disaster that hit Sunday.

When talking about repatriation of Afghan refugees, he explained that Russia and Afghanistan have relationships on a bilateral basis; Therefore, Kabul had not discussed the refugee problems with Moscow. However, he said Russian investments would help create jobs in Afghanistan.
